Custom Solutions for Your Toughest Challenges

Why an industry leading train door manufacturer works with Wes-Co

Nathan Williams is Director of Production at a company in South Carolina that manufactures stainless steel doors for high speed passenger trains. They were having issues with damage during shipping, and he asked Wes-Co for ways to protect the doors while they are in transit.

Peace of mind at an inexpensive cost
“We build doors for both train car manufacturers and transit agencies and ship them to major cities all over the country. The problem was that many of our doors have a curve, and if too much weight was placed on them during shipping, it would potentially change their shape or cause other damage. The percentage of doors that were damaged wasn’t very high, but it was a worry some of our customers had, and they asked us to find a solution.

“Wes-Co came up with a combination of interlocking corrugated cardboard with adhesive backed foam. It was cost effective, quick to put together, and supported the shape of the doors during transit. This solution prevents any potential damage and alleviated our customers’ concerns.”

A wealth of knowledge and support
“All I had to do was tell Jamie at Wes-Co what our customers’ concerns were and what I needed, and he delivered something that worked immediately. Their company is a pleasure to do business with and will jump through any hoops to get the job done. Basically, they are a big time packaging supplier with a small town, friendly charm.

“They were very accommodating with all of our requirements and changing timelines, developed a completely unique solution, and helped us provide exactly what our customers were looking for. I would definitely recommend them to other manufacturers.”
